Our Banana and Vanilla flavors get their sunny hue from natural turmeric, while Salted Caramel gets a deep, rich glow from caramelized apples. All our flavors are plant-based, non-GMO, and don’t contain anything weird like gums or carragennan.

Yes, all Fancy Monkey Mixes are vegan and contain no milk or eggs. While whole milk used to be the standard mix-in, we went a little overboard and created an entire Milk Guide that shows you how to use 17 different kind of milk alternatives to perfect your pudding. For our Fancy Monkey dessert recipes, consider some simple vegan swaps like using coconut oil instead of butter. Dessert will still be fancy and delicious, we promise.

Yes, all Fancy Monkey mixes are gluten-free.
Fancy Monkey uses real cane sugar as a sweetener, so they are not sugar-free. This allows us to keep our pudding tasting real and homemade.
We use real cane sugar because it does the one thing sugar should do: taste like sugar. Clean, round sweetness with nothing weird lingering behind it. We find that sugar alternatives can’t quite get out of their own way—sugar alcohols such as xylitol leave a cooling aftertaste, stevia and monk fruit go bitter on the back end. None of them taste like the real thing. It’s not just about taste, either. Pure cane sugar adds body and helps everything set up just right, so you don’t have to patch the texture back in with gums and fillers (yuck).
